EXPERIENCE
Sometimes less is more and more is less. Let's simply make it a perfect day.
OBSERVATION
The guy at the gas station had an embroidered work shirt -- the name on his left breast was "Happy" though his demeanor was otherwise. I wondered if he chose that as a word he wished to be associated with or whether it was actually his name?
ADVICE
When you are stressed, it helps a lot to find a peaceful moment. From there, remember to let the ones you love know that you have stuff that will take your attention and energy; and, once it is completed, you will be able to connect with them. They will most likely understand, and this might prevent hurt.
TILT (This I Learned Today)
According to a guy named Martin E P Seligman, PhD, whose website can be found at http://www.authentichappiness.org, we now have evidence to suggest that counting your blessings, using your strengths regularly, and expressing gratitude can increase happiness and reduce depression. This is a pretty cool site with lots of interesting "tests" you can take to find out about your self and your level of joy.
AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS
I am thankful for the inspiration, for the lessons I learn from another's challenges, for the camaraderie. The collective consciousness can evolve as we continue to strive for understanding, growth, tolerance, and respect gained through experience shared. And, then we can draw on the ever-evolving pool of knowledge... Grace is my goal right now. Grace in the eye of the storm; grace in the circle of love; grace in life.

This is from an email that was published ... it isn’t Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Tea Party, Green Party or Independent; it’s an idea for all parties.

THIS IS HOW YOU MIGHT FIX CONGRESS .... so that it works for "the people"

***************************************************
Congressional Reform Act

1. Term Limits.

12 years only: One of the possible options below...

A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system; and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

Actually, they should immediately take a 10% Pay Cut to match the Private Sector. Government is NOT Retail. it is a Cost Center. They only get their money from US Tax Payers; many of whom have had a 10% pay cut for 3 years now (maybe a touch longer) with no pay raise and a spend freeze with Extra work to do due to layoffs. Shouldn’t they do the same since their money comes out our my/our pockets? The current Tax Plan would remain the same with less payout to Government Officials and it would be a BIG Increase on Making the Budget.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators not career politicians, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

If you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, provide your comments - we might come up with an improved solution! Otherwise, just ignore it.
